This application generates documentation of a Visual FoxPro project in HTML format. It is intended to provide online documentation of a project for developers. It is not intended to generate HTML files for the HTML based help system.

• Run the VFPDOC application. Note: This version was compiled using VFP 6.0 and requires the necessary runtime files. If you need a VFP 5.0 version then drop me an email at mclain@truegeeks.com and I’ll look at setting up a link to one.
• Press the "Start" button and follow the instructions.
• After document generation is completed you may view by opening the DOCSTART.HTM file. The generated HTML file is presently viewable only with IE 4.0 or above.

• Only run the document generator on compiled, error free projects. Create a folder to save the HTML documents in. You must save the documents for each project in a unique folder since the document files names are fixed.
• This program does not alter your project files but it does open the related project tables during the documentation process. I strongly suggest you backup your files before documenting and make sure you have closed out of the project from VFP.
• Also note that this release does generate a few temporary tables that do not get deleted. The table names start with GDOCZXC followed by a number. Make sure your project does not use tables starting with this name and you may deleted these temporary tables after documentation is complete.

This is a test release and I know of a number of bugs. It does meet its intended purpose of providing a quick online project reference for developers. The document generator currently supports procedure files, forms, and classes (sorry, no reports). It does provide basic database info but only in a crude format. I plan to provide a decent table document when time permits. Another issue is speed. If you document a large project with a lot of method code build time can take awhile.
